Moynagh establishes a career best at Harris Chain

LEESBURG, Florida – During the course of the 179 FLW events that Bridgford Fishing Team member Jim Moynagh has fished in his career, he’s brought some big bags to the scales. None, however, bigger than the 23 pounds, 9 ounces he weighed in on Day 1 at the recent FLW Tour event on the Harris Chain of Lakes in Florida.
Moynagh’s five-fish limit that day kicked off a tournament where he would eventually finish 15th, which pushed his Angler of the Year points to 465: well within the range to qualify for the 2017 Forrest Wood Cup.
“I just had one of those days (on Day 1),” Moynagh said. “Everything went right.”
Moynagh followed up with 12-9 on Day 2, but stumbled a little with 6-5 on Day 3.
“That’s just Florida fishing for you,” Moynagh said. “I got plenty of bites, but those big fish from the first day just weren’t there.”
Other BFT finishers: Matt Stefan was 48th (24-5), Randy Blaukat was 101st (19-14) and Chad Randles was 133rd (16-3).
